Ge Xiaoyan, Deputy Prosecutor General of the Supreme People's Procuratorate, recently led a delegation to procuratorial organs in Ordos and Baotou, North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, to conduct a survey on the prosecution of duty-related and economic crimes and accusations and appeals.
In the Baotou Municipal People's Procuratorate, the delegation heard briefings on relevant work by procuratorial organs of the autonomous region and Baotou. The delegation visited procuratorates in Dongsheng district of Ordos and Kundulun district of Baotou to learn about intelligent-assisted case handling, the development of the 12309 Procuratorial Service Center, and progress in advancing law‑based handling of petition work.
The delegation also visited local enterprises, including Inner Mongolia First Machinery Group, to learn about procuratorial services for the high‑quality development of enterprises.
Ge spoke highly of the achievements of procuratorial organs across the autonomous region in prosecuting duty-related crimes, economic crimes and accusations and appeals. She stressed the need to constantly improve the case-handling mechanism for duty-related cases to enhance the quality and efficiency of case handling.
She emphasized the importance of closely aligning with local development priorities to carry out economic crime prosecution. Efforts should be made to accurately assess new trends and features of economic crimes based on regional characteristics, collaboratively prevent and resolve conflicts and risks in the economic field, and strengthen the special supervision over illegal cross-jurisdictional law enforcement and profit-driven law enforcement and judicial practices to enhance the effectiveness of procuratorial governance in the economic field.
Ge called for further efforts to advance accusation and appeal prosecution through improved duty performance. Procuratorial organs should implement the requirements for law-based handling of petition work, advance diversified resolution of conflicts and disputes regularly, and earnestly implement mechanisms including leading officials' reception of and visits to petitioners, assigning responsibility for case resolution, and judicial assistance. She also emphasized strengthening the coordination mechanism covering procuratorial organs at the national, provincial, prefecture and county levels.
