Ge Xiaoyan, Deputy Prosecutor General of the Supreme People's Procuratorate, recently led a delegation to survey procuratorial organs in Panzhihua, Southwest China's Sichuan province. The delegation visited the Panzhihua Municipal People's Procuratorate and the Dong District People's Procuratorate of the city to learn about the prosecution of duty-related crimes, accusations and appeals, and serve and guarantee the development of a pilot zone for common prosperity.
Ge fully affirmed the innovative measures adopted and the positive results achieved by local procuratorial organs in recent years in aligning closely with local development priorities, performing procuratorial duties with high quality and efficiency, and supporting Panzhihua's initiative to build a pilot zone for common prosperity.
Ge stressed the importance of actively integrating into the Party and state's supervision system, improving mechanisms for handling major and important cases of duty-related crimes, and coordinating efforts to advance the fight against corruption.
She urged efforts to firmly safeguard high-quality development by severely punishing all types of duty-related and economic crimes in accordance with law, and crack down hard on telecom and cyber fraud and crimes that harm people's vital interests, so as to promote the closer coordination between crime punishment and governance and advance common prosperity through the rule of law.
Ge also stressed the need to implement the requirements of law-based handling of petition work, advance the special campaign for intensive resolution of petition-related issues, thoroughly practice the New-Era "Fengqiao Experience" — a proven model of grassroots dispute resolution in China — and upgrade the working model of "Jian Dan Min Liao", under which procuratorial organs are committed to resolving people's concerns. These efforts aim to truly ensure that procuratorial organs fulfill their duties, the people’s demands are resolved, and conflicts and disputes are substantively settled at the grassroots level, she added.
