The Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP) and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs have recently released a batch of typical cases highlighting judicial assistance in advancing rural vitalization on all fronts. The release is aimed at coordinating and giving full play to the functions and collaborative strengths of procuratorial organs and departments of agriculture and rural affairs, strengthening judicial and social assistance for rural residents in need, and further enhancing the effectiveness of the special campaign of judicial assistance in promoting rural vitalization.
A total of eight cases were released, characterized by precise targeting of assistance recipients, close and efficient collaboration, diversified assistance measures, and significant progress in advancing rural vitalization on all fronts. The individuals receiving assistance in these cases are all rural residents who have fallen into poverty due to legal issues, as specifically prioritized for special attention and timely support under the campaign. They mainly include poverty prevention monitoring targets involved in the procuratorial case-handling process, as well as vulnerable rural populations living in distress such as veterans, minors, people with disabilities, and women.
Procuratorial organs and departments of agriculture and rural affairs have established a comprehensive work platform for judicial assistance in support of rural vitalization, enhancing collaboration in areas such as information sharing, clue transfer, and collaborative assistance.
In terms of assistance methods, while issuing judicial assistance funds and addressing the urgent needs of the recipients' families, procuratorial organs have also undertaken targeted and comprehensive assistance efforts, including industrial support, skill training, and legal aid.
To effectively advance rural vitalization on all fronts, procuratorial organs focus on guiding assisted families with labor capability or an industrial foundation to stimulate their internal motivation and integrate into local industrial development, and provide developmental assistance.
From 2023 to the first half of 2025, procuratorial organs at all levels have assisted 95,000 rural individuals who have fallen into poverty due to legal cases, distributing judicial assistance funds totaling 980 million yuan ($137.5 million).
"Procuratorial organs at all levels should take this release as an opportunity to enhance communication and coordination with agriculture and rural affairs departments, ensuring the full implementation of campaign tasks," said an official from the SPP's Accusations and Complaints Procuratorial Department. "They should also improve the work platform for judicial assistance serving rural vitalization, and develop a coordinated and diversified assistance mechanism to enhance synergy in advancing rural vitalization on all fronts," the official added.
