The second National Civil Procuratorial Professional Competition will be held from Oct 21 to 23 at the Jiangsu Branch of the National Prosecutors College in Jurong, East China's Jiangsu province. The event will bring together 99 key civil procuratorial professionals from across the country to compete head-to-head.
Co-hosted by the Political Department and the Civil Procuratorial Department of the Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP), the competition aims to earnestly implement the guiding principles of the 16th National Procuratorial Work Conference and the arrangements set out in the 15th Five-Year Plan for the Development of People's Procuratorial Work. It seeks to strengthen civil procuratorial work, consistently ensure high-quality and efficient handling of every case, and contribute to a strong start to the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-30) through civil procuratorial efforts.
The competition will consist of a preliminary round and a final round. The preliminary round will include a written test on comprehensive professional knowledge of civil procuratorial work, as well as case review and legal document drafting. In the final round, contestants will give case presentations and defenses. They will deliver on-site case briefings based on the PowerPoint presentations prepared during the case review and document drafting phase, followed by defenses in response to questions from judges.
According to the head of the SPP's Civil Procuratorial Department, the competition is both a showcase of achievements in building a strong civil procuratorial team and an important initiative to promote the high-quality development of civil procuratorial work.
The official added that, through an integrated approach of "learning, practice, training, evaluation, and competition," the event seeks to select outstanding civil procuratorial professionals with strong professional competence, rich practical experience, and notable work performance, thereby driving overall improvement in the professional capacity of the civil procuratorial team.
