On June 5, World Environment Day, the Supreme People's Procuratorate released six typical cases of procuratorial public interest litigation for ecological and environmental protection. These cases focus on supporting China's major regional strategies, enhancing the coordinated performance of duties and removing bottlenecks in industry regulation, while emphasizing litigation as a rigorous legal supervision instrument. The move aims to advance the systematic protection of the ecological environment and promote long-term governance.

The released cases comprise five administrative public interest litigation cases and one civil public interest litigation case, covering various fields such as solid waste pollution, livestock farming pollution, water resources protection, and air pollution.

Procuratorial organs will strengthen procuratorial supervision and public interest litigation, promote the high-quality and efficient handling of public interest litigation cases in ecological and environmental protection, and earnestly safeguard public interests related to the ecological environment. This will strongly support the building of a Beautiful China and accelerate the comprehensive green transition of economic and social development.
