On March 25, the Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP) held a meeting for procuratorates nationwide to advance the special campaign on supervising illegal cross-jurisdictional and profit-driven law enforcement.

Ge Xiaoyan, Deputy Prosecutor General of the SPP, attended the meeting and stressed that efforts should be made to further improve the precision, intensity, and depth of legal supervision, and to advance the establishment of a long-term mechanism for regulating enterprise-related law enforcement and judicial practices.

Ge fully acknowledged the remarkable achievements made by procuratorates nationwide in carrying out the special oversight campaign over the past year. She noted that deepening the campaign is essential to consolidate existing achievements and prevent the resurgence of problems, and is urgently needed to address deep-seated problems and promote root-cause governance. Ultimately, it represents the core commitment of procuratorial organs to uphold the law while supporting national security and development, Ge said.

Ge emphasized that procuratorates across the country must thoroughly implement the requirements set forth in the SPP's Circular on Deepening the Special Oversight Campaign on Illegal Cross-Jurisdictional and Profit-Driven Law Enforcement and Judicial Practices by Procuratorial Organs in 2026.

She urged procuratorates nationwide to adhere to problem-based and result-oriented approaches, and to achieve new breakthroughs in handling major cases and enhancing the quality and effectiveness of supervision. By focusing on prominent issues and persistent malpractices, they should make progress in strengthening oversight of similar cases and advancing systematic governance, she added.

Procuratorates were also called on to strengthen institutional development and digital empowerment, making new advances in improving relevant systems and mechanisms and ensuring long-term, effective implementation.

Du Xueyi, Director General of the Procuratorial Department for Economic Crime of the SPP, gave a briefing on the progress of the special oversight campaign in 2025.

Representatives of all provincial-level procuratorates attended the meeting via video telephone conference.
