On March 2, the Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP) held a press conference on the move to continue advancing the special campaign on the procuratorial protection of people's livelihoods, during which eight typical cases in the field were released.

Lan Xiangdong, Director General of the Civil Procuratorial Department of the SPP, noted that the released cases demonstrated procuratorates' steadfast upholding of a people-centered approach in case handling.

Focusing on key areas, specific groups and prominent social issues, procuratorates provided law-based solutions to pressing public concerns through the comprehensive performance of procuratorial duties — thereby enhancing the people's sense of gain, happiness and security.

Some of the released cases involve criminal procuratorial supervision targeting violations such as "data leak libraries" and "mystery box schemes" infringing upon personal information as well as the incitement of online violence.

Others are civil procuratorial supervision cases about rectifying fraudulent lawsuits — including those where real estate developers abused consumers' statutory preferential purchase rights to manipulate housing contracts. Also featured is an administrative non-litigation execution supervision case concerning wage arrears.

Lan emphasized that procuratorates nationwide would continue to uphold their legal oversight responsibilities, ensure high-quality and efficient case handling, and further deepen the campaign for the procuratorial protection of people's livelihoods.
