A delegation from the Supreme People's Procuratorate visits the All-China Federation of Trade Unions for exchanges and solicitation of opinions on Jan 15, 2026.
On Jan 15, Wang Dongming, Vice-Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and Chairman of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions (ACFTU), met with Ying Yong, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Prosecutor General of the Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP), who led a delegation to the ACFTU for exchanges and solicitation of opinions. The two sides held discussions on improving the collaboration mechanism between procuratorial organs and trade unions and safeguarding workers' legitimate rights and interests through legal means.
Wang expressed appreciation for the SPP's strong support for the ACFTU's work and acknowledged the joint efforts made by both parties in protecting workers’ legitimate rights and interests. He called for enhanced collaboration between trade unions at all levels and procuratorial organs to strengthen supervision over the enforcement of labor laws and build stronger synergy in safeguarding workers' legitimate rights and interests. These efforts, he noted, will enhance the well-being of workers, foster harmonious labor relations, and contribute to social and corporate stability.
Ying thanked the ACFTU for its care and support for the SPP and procuratorial work. He emphasized that protecting the legitimate rights and interests of workers is vital to ensuring social fairness and justice, maintaining social harmony and stability, and promoting high-quality socioeconomic development.
He urged procuratorates to uphold the principle of administering justice for the people, fully perform their procuratorial functions, and collaborate with trade unions to ensure the effective implementation of the "one letter, two documents" system that integrates procuratorial supervision with oversight of labor law enforcement by trade unions, and to support litigation and dispute resolution. These efforts aim to strengthen the legal protection of workers' rights and interests and ensure all workers' legitimate rights and interests are effectively realized, safeguarded and developed, he added.
Xu Liuping, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group, Vice-Chairman and First Secretary of the Secretariat of the ACFTU; Zhang Xueqiao, Deputy Prosecutor General of the SPP; and Zhong Hongjiang, Vice-Chairman and Secretary of the Secretariat of the ACFTU, gave briefings on their respective areas of work. Leading officials from relevant departments of the SPP and representatives of the ACFTU also attended the meeting.
