A seminar on the development of an independent knowledge system for Chinese procuratorial science and the academic mission of law journals was held at the National Prosecutors College in Beijing on Nov 14. Gong Ming, Deputy Prosecutor General of the Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP), attended the event.
The seminar aimed to implement the overall arrangements of the SPP's Party Leadership Group on the building of an independent knowledge system for Chinese procuratorial science. It sought to pool academic resources to focus on and engage in procuratorial theory research, forge broader consensus among procuratorial practitioners, legal academia, and the publishing sector, and jointly promote the integrated development of procuratorial practice, academia, and research, so as to contribute to the country's development of an independent knowledge system for procuratorial science.
During the seminar, experts, including Chen Su, a member of the Presidium of Academic Divisions of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and Chief Editor of Chinese Journal of Law, and Yao Jianlong, Chief Editor of Political Science and Law, listened attentively to presentations from six trainees. The experts provided academic insights on the theme of "An Independent Knowledge System for Chinese Procuratorial Science: Key Concepts and Original Theoretical Refinement."
In addition, representatives from eight law journals engaged in discussions on the seminar's theme, focusing on building an independent knowledge system for Chinese procuratorial science and the academic mission of law journals in the new era.
Leading officials from relevant departments of the National Prosecutors College and the SPP's Law and Policy Research Office also attended the seminar.
