Ying extended a warm welcome to the heads of the delegations and expressed his gratitude for the attention, participation, and strong support given by the procuratorial authorities of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) countries to the mechanism of the China-ASEAN Prosecutors-General Conference.
He reviewed the exchanges and cooperation between China's procuratorial organs and those of the ASEAN member states, and highlighted China's progress in developing the rule of law, procuratorial reform and overall procuratorial work.
Ying said that as the country's legal supervisory bodies and judicial bodies responsible for ensuring the unified and correct implementation of the law, Chinese procuratorial organs bear significant responsibility in advancing the rule of law and upholding judicial fairness.
Under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, they are fulfilling their legal supervisory duties in accordance with the law, handling every case with high quality and efficiency, and supporting and serving Chinese modernization through high-quality development of procuratorial work, he said.
He noted that the procuratorial authorities of ASEAN member states have much valuable experience in serving national modernization and maintaining social fairness and justice. The SPP, he said, is willing to work with its counterparts in the ASEAN countries to implement the important consensus reached by leaders of the countries, deepen practical cooperation in combating transnational crime, conducting criminal justice assistance, and strengthening exchanges and training of prosecutors, so as to jointly safeguard the safety of people's lives and property in the region, support high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, and contribute to the building of a closer China-ASEAN community with a shared future.
The heads of the delegations expressed their admiration for China's achievements in modernization, rule of law development, and procuratorial work, and commended China's efforts to deepen and develop the mechanism of the China-ASEAN Prosecutors-General Conference. They all expressed hope to continue friendly exchanges and practical cooperation with the SPP under this mechanism in areas such as combating cross-border crimes including online gambling and fraud, facilitating prosecutors' mutual visits and exchanges, experience sharing and mutual learning, and digital development, to better benefit the people of their countries and the region.
