The Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP) has released a batch of typical cases showcasing the use of procuratorial technology in reviewing technical evidence in criminal prosecution. The release is part of broader efforts to thoroughly implement the Guideline on Strengthening Technology Use in Procuratorial Work in the New Era, and to substantively improve the specialized review of technical evidence by procuratorial organs.
In April, the SPP's Procuratorial Technology Information Research Center issued a notice calling for the submission of such typical cases, receiving 68 in total. After a five-month review and selection process, six typical cases were chosen as exemplary.
Selection criteria emphasized cross-level coordination, multi-disciplinary collaboration, and the integration of technology in case handling. The released cases span multiple prosecution technical fields, including forensic medicine, physical evidence, audio-visual materials, electronic data, and environmental damage assessment.
An official from the SPP's Procuratorial Technology Information Research Center stated that, moving forward, the center will adhere to the guiding principles of "rational layout, distinctive features, integrated application, and systematic management". By taking procuratorial technology as a new quality productive force in the new era, it aims to provide robust support for high-quality and efficient case handling, ensuring that people feel fairness and justice in every judicial case, the official said.
