On July 17 local time, Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel, who is also the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, meets in Havana with Ying Yong, Chief Grand Prosecutor and Prosecutor General of the Supreme People's Procuratorate of China, who led a delegation of Chinese prosecutors visiting Cuba.
On July 17 local time, Miguel Diaz-Canel, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of Cuba, met in Havana with Ying Yong, Chief Grand Prosecutor and Prosecutor General of the Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP) of China, who was leading a delegation of Chinese prosecutors on a visit to Cuba.
Ying conveyed President Xi Jinping's cordial greetings to Diaz-Canel, noting that China and Cuba are good friends who trust each other, good comrades with shared ideals, and good brothers who stand together through adversity.
He said that in recent years, the presidents of the two countries have met multiple times, jointly steering the high-level development of China-Cuba relations and setting a model of unity and cooperation among socialist countries as well as of sincerity and mutual assistance among developing countries.
Ying emphasized that under the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, the Communist Party of China is leading the Chinese people in advancing the building of a strong country and realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation on the path toward Chinese modernization.
Noting this year marks the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Cuba, Ying said that the SPP of China is willing to work with Cuba's law enforcement and judicial authorities to implement the important consensus reached by the top leaders of both parties and countries and further deepen exchanges and cooperation to contribute to the building of a China-Cuba community with a shared future, thus benefiting both countries and their people.
Diaz-Canel asked Ying to convey his best wishes to President Xi, and spoke highly of the special and friendly relations between the two parties and countries. He expressed sincere gratitude to China for its support and assistance in Cuba's economic and social development.
He pointed out that exchanges and cooperation between the procuratorial authorities of the two countries are conducive to deepening the special friendship. Cuba is willing to work with China to steadfastly support each other on issues concerning their own core interests, continuously strengthen practical cooperation in various fields, and join hands to build a Cuba-China community with a shared future.

During the visit, Ying had separate meetings with Cuban Attorney General Yamila Pena Ojeda and President of the Supreme People's Court of Cuba Ruben Remigio Ferro. He briefed them on China's efforts in promoting the rule of law, and the country's judicial system and procuratorial work.
Both Ojeda and Remigio spoke highly of China's achievements in the development of the rule of law and prosecution work. They expressed the hope to draw on Chinese experiences in promoting the rule of law and judicial reform to jointly enhance the level of law enforcement and judicial work in both countries.
Both sides acknowledged that the exchanges and cooperation in the field of the rule of law are an important part of the friendly relations between China and Cuba.
They pledged, under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, to further deepen exchanges and cooperation in areas such as combating transnational crime, judicial assistance in criminal matters, information technology development and training of judicial personnel, and to jointly leverage the power of the rule of law to serve the modernization of both countries and foster a better environment for the economic and social development of both countries.

Chief prosecutors Yin Yijun from Jilin Provincial People's Procuratorate, Duan Wenlong from Henan Provincial People's Procuratorate, and Shi Xialian from Chongqing Municipal People's Procuratorate participated in the visit. Chinese Ambassador to Cuba Hua Xin and Cuban Ambassador to China Alberto Blanco Silva were in attendance at the relevant activities.
