On behalf of the SPP, Gong extended a warm welcome to the delegation, and noted that this year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Vietnam and the China-Vietnam Year of People-to-People Exchange.
He said that China's procuratorial organs are willing to share their experience in advancing the rule of law, deepen comprehensive and multi-level exchanges and cooperation with their Vietnamese counterparts, and enhance the quality and level of practical cooperation, so as to make even greater contributions to upholding and advancing the socialist procuratorial system and the building of a China-Vietnam community with a shared future that bears strategic significance, he added.
Gong briefed the delegation on the constitutional role and primary functions of China's procuratorial organs. He emphasized that, in accordance with the Constitution and laws, China's procuratorial organs have established a fundamental framework of legal supervision encompassing criminal, civil, administrative, and public interest litigation, which provides strong support for maintaining social fairness and justice and ensuring the uniform and correct implementation of national laws.
Currently, China's procuratorial organs are continuously advancing the procuratorial practice of Xi Jinping Thought on the Rule of Law, so as to better serve the country's modernization drive, Gong said.
The Vietnamese delegation expressed gratitude for the meeting with Gong and called for establishing a closer and more efficient mechanism for exchanges and training between the two countries, in order to cultivate more high-caliber professionals for the development of the rule of law in both countries.
