The 26th National Conference on Procuratorial Theory Research and the Annual Meeting of the Chinese Law Society's Association of Procuratorial Science concluded in Southwest China's Chongqing municipality on May 22.
In his closing address, Miao Shengming, a member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Prosecutor General of the Supreme People's Procuratorate, emphasized that procuratorial science, systems and practices are intertwined with one another. He stressed the need to adhere to a practice-oriented approach and optimize the procuratorial knowledge system in a targeted manner in order to further promote the development of an independent knowledge system for China's procuratorial science.
Miao underscored the importance of establishing a systematic mindset while focusing on the construction of the disciplinary system, academic system, and discourse system of procuratorial science characterized by socialism with Chinese characteristics based on the iconic concept of legal supervision.
He highlighted the significance of carrying forward historic legacy and breaking new ground, while enhancing forward-thinking and comprehensive planning, to promote the development of China's independent procuratorial knowledge system in a phased and orderly manner across different fields.
Furthermore, Miao emphasized the need to strengthen coordinated efforts, continuously enhance organizational support for the development of the knowledge system of procuratorial science, deepen the integration of procuratorial research, education and practice, and fully consolidate the collaborative efforts of research institutions.
He also called for efforts to coordinate academia, practitioners, relevant departments and law schools to build a scientific, sound and independent procuratorial knowledge system in China, making greater contributions to advancing socialist rule of law in the country and better supporting and serving Chinese modernization.
