To mark the 5th anniversary of the promulgation of China's Civil Code, the Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP) held an open day on May 16.

During the event, the SPP released the fourth batch of typical cases of the implementation of the Civil Code by procuratorial organs nationwide, showcasing their achievements in ensuring the unified and correct implementation of the code and handling each case with high quality and efficiency.

The six newly released cases involve various sections of the Civil Code, including the General Part, Real Rights, Contracts, Personality Rights, Marriage and Family, and Tort Liability, elucidating legal issues such as divorce economic compensation, guardianship, transfer of rights on contracted land management, compensation for personal injury in construction projects, support and upbringing obligation, and protection of name rights.

Since the enactment of the Civil Code, the procuratorial organs have regarded implementing the Civil Code as an important political responsibility and a statutory duty. By revising the Rules for the People's Procuratorates in Supervising Civil Lawsuits, collaborating with courts to improve the mechanism of handling the cases involving procuratorial recommendations for retrial of civil cases, and making coordinated efforts to establish regular mechanisms for punishing and preventing false litigation, they have worked to ensure the unified and correct implementation of the Civil Code.

In the next step, the procuratorial organs will continue to handle each civil procuratorial supervision case with high quality and efficiency to ensure people live a better life.
