The first edition of Outstanding "Three Micro" Works on the Rule of Law in China was released on April 27 at the headquarters of the China Media Group (CMG) in Beijing. The event was jointly organized by the Supreme People's Court (SPC), the Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP), the National Radio and Television Administration, and the CMG.
At the same event, the campaign on collection of works for its second edition was launched.
Deng Xiuming, Deputy Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Executive Vice-President of the SPC, and Tong Jianming, Deputy Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and First Deputy Prosecutor General of the SPP, attended the event and delivered speeches.
Ling Zhifeng, a member of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) and Director of the Political Department of the MPS, and Hu Weilie, a member of the Party Leadership Group and Vice-Minister of the Ministry of Justice (MOJ), also participated in the event and jointly launched the collection campaign for the second edition.
The "three micro" works refer to micro-videos, micro-films and micro-short dramas.
In his speech, Tong said that promotion and education of the rule of law is an important part of law-based governance on all fronts and of ideological and cultural work, and also an important way to promote the spirit and culture of the rule of law.
Procuratorial organs should conscientiously popularize legal knowledge, vigorously promote rule of law culture in the new era, and strive to make the people feel, understand and experience fairness and justice, he said.
Tong urged procuratorial organs to pay more attention to promoting legal education through their procuratorial duty performance and handling of cases, tell stories about the rule of law and procuratorial work, promote core socialist values, and uphold the spirit of the socialist rule of law.
He underlined the need to use the exhibition of the "three micro" works as an important tool to comprehensively strengthen and improve the promotion and education of legal knowledge, promote the rule of law as a social consensus and basic social norm, and better serve the law-based governance on all fronts and the building of socialist rule of law in the country.
A total of 90 micro-films, micro-videos, and micro-dramas were selected for the first edition of the "Three Micro" Works on the Rule of Law in China Exhibition, including 45 works related to procuratorial themes covering the four major procuratorial functions in criminal, civil, administrative, and public interest litigation fields. These works showcase procuratorial efforts in various aspects such as lawfully punishing crimes, serving the construction of a Beautiful China, safeguarding historical and cultural heritage, and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of heroes and martyrs.
Officials from the Commission for Political and Legal Affairs of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, the SPC, the SPP, the MPS, the MOJ, the National Radio and Television Administration, the CMG, as well as representatives from local courts and procuratorates, participated in the event.
