Zhang Yufei, an Olympic gold medalist in swimming

Hello everyone, I am Zhang Yufei. As a swimming athlete, I competed in my third Olympic Games in 2024. The intense international competition at the Paris Olympics has inspired me to contribute to the ongoing endeavor of building China into an Olympic and sports powerhouse. A nation will be strong only when its young people are strong.

During this year's two sessions, I continue to focus on sports and youth development. I submitted a suggestion on allowing non-registered young athletes to participate in provincial, municipal, and county-level sports competitions for younger age groups. This would help create a more integrated system that combines open tournaments with high-level matches, enhancing connectivity and standardization of youth sports competitions.

I also suggest promoting anti-doping education on a broader and more regular basis, and establishing more programs to identify and nurture outstanding talent for competitive sports. It is essential to ignite the dreams of young athletes—igniting the dreams of young people to one day raise the national flag and sing the national anthem on the world stage.

Furthermore, I believe schools should offer more "Champions' PE Classes", while also strengthening legal education to foster the all-round and multi-faceted development of young people.
