Sixteen governmental departments and public institutions, including the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF), the Office of the Central Cyberspace Affairs Commission, the Supreme People's Court, the Supreme People's Procuratorate, the Ministry of Education, and the Ministry of Public Security, have issued a circular on a caring for children campaign for the winter vacation of 2025.
The circular demands that relevant departments in various regions nationwide extensively carry out activities promoting the fine traditional Chinese culture by working with children's centers, children's palaces, and other extracurricular educational institutions and leveraging the roles of memorial halls, cultural centers and other venues.
It calls for taking innovative approaches and exploring resources with unique features to guide children to appreciate the profound Chinese culture through experiencing the Spring Festival culture and other traditional Chinese culture.
The circular requires relevant departments in all regions across the country focus on preventing potential accidental injuries and illegal infringements that children may face to ensure their safety in the vacation.
The ACWF, in conjunction with relevant departments, will continue to release children's safety tips, according to the circular. Safety promotion activities should be carried out in communities and households across the country to strengthen public legal education on the protection of minors, the circular notes.
The circular urges all localities to organize parent-children activities such as "Cultivating a Love for Books in Every Home" and "Popular Science Education in Every Home."
The circular highlights the need to pay special attention to the practical needs of special groups, such as the left-behind children, children in difficulties and migrant children, and help them resolve problems.
It is essential to enhance home visits, and mobilize executive committee members of women's federations and children' care givers to visit families of left-behind children and those in need in their jurisdictions, learn about their needs face-to-face, and actively assist in resolving problems, the circular says.
