While extending a warm welcome to the Saudi Arabian judicial delegation, Ying said that China and Saudi Arabia enjoy a time-honored friendship. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 1990, the bilateral relations have developed comprehensively and rapidly.
Ying noted that under the strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping, King of Saudi Arabia Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, China-Saudi Arabia relations have made significant progress and shown strong development momentum in recent years, with exchanges and cooperation in various fields yielding new outcomes.
Against the backdrop of high-level development of the China-Saudi Arabia relations, law enforcement and judicial exchanges and cooperation between the two countries have continuously progressed. The SPP of China is willing to work with the Saudi Arabian side to effectively implement the important consensuses reached by the leaders of both countries, and further advance and deepen the China-Saudi Arabia comprehensive strategic partnership, he added.
Ying also presented the delegation with information on China's practices in promoting the rule of law and the development of the country's procuratorial work. He said that comprehensively advancing law-based governance is a constitutional principle and a fundamental strategy for governance in China.
Currently, China has thoroughly implemented the guiding principles of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), advanced Chinese modernization, and brought all the work of the country under the rule of law, he noted.
Under the leadership of the CPC, procuratorial organs across the country faithfully fulfill their duty of legal supervision as stipulated in the Constitution and the law, serve the country's overall development, promote justice for the people, shoulder responsibility for the rule of law, and promote procuratorial practices in implementing Xi Jinping Thought on the Rule of Law, Ying added.
Ying said that the SPP is willing to further deepen friendly exchanges and strengthen pragmatic cooperation with the Saudi Public Prosecution in such areas as combating transnational crimes, carrying out judicial assistance in criminal cases, and conducting exchanges and training of procuratorial personnel, in a bid to provide better judicial guarantees for promoting the alignment between high-quality Belt and Road cooperation and Saudi Vision 2030, advancing the continuous development of the China-Saudi Arabia comprehensive strategic partnership, and better benefiting both countries and their people.
Al-Mujib expressed his gratitude for Ying’s warm reception and highly praised China's achievements in promoting the rule of law and in procuratorial work. He said that the friendly exchanges between Saudi Arabia and China have a long history and indicate a deep traditional friendship, and that the procuratorial organs of both countries have maintained brotherly exchanges and cooperation for a long time.
He said he hopes to take this visit as an opportunity to further deepen the friendly exchanges between the procuratorial organs of Saudi Arabia and China, expand the scope of cooperation and intensify collaborative efforts. He also expressed the willingness to strengthen criminal judicial assistance, and carry out pragmatic cooperation in such areas as combating transnational crimes, information technology application in procuratorial work, and exchanges of procuratorial personnel, so as to continuously promote new developments in judicial and procuratorial cooperation between the two countries.
Chen Guoqing, Deputy Prosecutor General of the SPP, Abdulrahman bin Ahmed Al-Harbi, Saudi Arabian Ambassador to China, and Sheikh Ahmed Al-Zahrani, Saudi Arabian Deputy Attorney General, also attended the meeting.
