Tong Jianming, First Deputy Prosecutor General of the Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP) of China, met with a delegation led by Ta Quang Khai, Deputy Prosecutor General of the Supreme People's Procuracy of Vietnam and Chief Prosecutor of the Central Military Procuracy, on July 3.
Tong extended a warm welcome to the Vietnamese delegation on behalf of Ying Yong, Prosecutor General of the SPP. He emphasized that as an important part of the China-Vietnam community with a shared future and the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries, the prosecution authorities of the two countries have enjoyed a profound friendship.
He highlighted the frequent high-level exchanges between the two sides in recent years, as well as deepened practical cooperation in such areas as information sharing, personnel training and judicial assistance, saying that they have set a fine example of judicial exchanges and cooperation among neighboring countries.
During the meeting, Tong introduced the basic situation of Chinese military prosecution authorities and the achievements Chinese procuratorial organs made in areas such as military-civil cooperation, safeguarding national defense interests, protecting the rights of servicemen and their families, and carrying out campaigns on the rectification of military airports by leveraging the role of procuratorial public interest litigation.
Tong said that this inaugural visit by the Vietnamese military procuratorial organ to China is significant in promoting exchanges and cooperation between the military prosecution authorities of the two countries.
The Chinese prosecution authority is willing to work together with its Vietnamese counterpart to fully implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of both countries, share experiences in the rule of law, deepen judicial exchanges and cooperation, and provide high-quality legal safeguards for the high-quality social and economic development of both countries and the high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, he said.
Khai said that the Vietnamese prosecution authority attaches great importance to the judicial reform experiences of the Chinese prosecution authority, and is willing to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation between the military prosecution authorities of the two countries.
The meeting was also attended by Zhang Jin, Head of the Military Procuratorate of the Chinese People's Liberation Army.
