From May 27 to 31, the Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP) and the Ministry of Water Resources (MWR) organized the first joint training session on water-related administrative law enforcement and procuratorial public interest litigation at the Yunnan branch of the National Prosecutors College. More than 150 professionals from procuratorial organs and water resource departments nationwide, and river basin management agencies participated in the training.
The training session invited experts from procuratorial organs, courts and water resource departments as well as university professors to deliver lectures on such topics as Xi Jinping Thought on the Rule of Law, the procuratorial public interest litigation system, water-related public interest litigation, regulation of administrative discretion, and the legal protection of river strategies.
The lectures focused on common issues in water-related administrative law enforcement and procuratorial public interest litigation, and explored ways to resolve key and challenging problems at work while taking into consideration the existing practices of law enforcement and justice, in a bid to improve the quality and efficiency of case handling.
The training aimed to enhance the collaboration and exchange between agencies of water-related administrative law enforcement and procuratorial public interest litigation, and further improve the capability of safeguarding national water security.
