The Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP), the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF) and the All-China Federation of Trade Unions (ACFTU) released a batch of typical cases on safeguarding the rights and interests of women and children at the 44th Prosecutorial Open Day held by the SPP on April 15.
The release consists of 12 typical cases, covering the four major procuratorial areas of criminal, civil, administrative, and public interest litigation, which indicates the authorities' "zero tolerance" attitude towards and determination to crack down on crimes against women and children according to the law.
These cases also highlight the authorities’ efforts to actively fulfill their duties so as to promote social governance and address the prominent issues pertaining to the infringement of the public interests of women.
These cases summarize and promote the successful experience in the judicial protection of the legitimate rights and interests of women and children, helping foster an atmosphere of respect for women and care for children throughout society and promote gender equality. Furthermore, they provide exemplary guidance and references for handling similar cases and resolving related issues.
