Symposium participants suggested further enhancing the protection of the rights and interests of female scientists and better serving the construction of a strong country in science and technology.

They proposed that procuratorial organs more effectively exercise their functions of legal supervision and focus on addressing prominent issues affecting and infringing upon the rights and interests of women and children.

Suggestions were also made to further strengthen the construction of barrier-free environments, eliminate employment discrimination, and safeguard the rights and interests of women with disabilities through public interest litigation.

It was hoped that further efforts will be made to strengthen the "Guardianship and Love in Prosecution" brand, increase publicity about legal knowledge, and enhance coordination and cooperation between the SPP and the ACWF to better promote the development of the cause of protecting the rights and interests of women and children.

Ying pointed out that the SPP will further strengthen cooperation with the ACWF and relevant departments and deeply implement laws concerning the protection of women's rights and interests, the protection of minors, and the prevention of domestic violence.

This will be done in conjunction with the "Prosecution for People's Livelihood" special campaign, and will comprehensively fulfill the duty of legal supervision and handle every case involving women's rights and interests with high quality and efficiency, he said.

Ying said that efforts will be made to strictly and lawfully punish all crimes infringing upon the legitimate rights and interests of women, strengthen civil and administrative procuratorial supervision concerning women's rights and interests, intensify support for women who have suffered domestic violence in filing litigation, and deepen public interest litigation for the protection of women's rights and interests.

Meanwhile, the SPP will work with the ACWF to deepen special judicial assistance for needy women involved in cases, he said.

Speaking at the event, Huang said that in recent years, the ACWF and the SPP have established a sound cooperation mechanism to jointly promote the protection of rights and interests of women and children.

The two sides have carried out practical and effective cooperation in establishing a public interest litigation system for the protection of women's rights and interests, providing judicial assistance to women in need, punishing crimes of sexual assault against minors, and enhancing family education guidance for minors involved in cases, thus effectively enhancing the sense of gain, happiness and security of women and children as well as their families, she said.

The open-day event, jointly organized by the procuratorial organs nationwide at four different levels and the ACWF for the first time, is a positive outcome demonstrating the advantages of each party and strengthening collaborative efforts, she added.

In his address, Tong stated that the SPP will strengthen practical cooperation with all parties, continuously carry out effective judicial protection of women's rights and interests, and further promote the virtue of respect and care for women throughout society.

Zhang Xueqiao, Deputy Prosecutor General of the SPP; Ma Liejian, Member of the Secretariat and Member of the Party Leadership Group of the ACWF; and Na Yanfang, Member of the Secretariat of the ACWF, attended the open-day event.

Representatives of NPC deputies, CPPCC members, ACWF institution members, members of the ACWF Standing Committee and Executive Committee as well as experts and scholars, specially appointed prosecutors and procuratorial hearing officers, volunteers, and heads of relevant departments of the ACWF and the SPP participated in the event.

All the four levels of procuratorial organs across the country will conduct open-day events under the theme of "Upholding the Rule of Law to Empower Women in the New Era" from April 15 to 25.
