Judges watch promotional videos at the 2nd National Procuratorial Cultural Brands Competition.
An award ceremony for the 2nd National Procuratorial Cultural Brands Competition was jointly held by the Information Office of the Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP) and the Procuratorate Daily in Beijing on September 22, 2022.
The event was an integral part of efforts taken by procuratorial organs nationwide to welcome the convocation of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC).
The ceremony was attended by Tong Jianming, deputy secretary of the Leading Party Members’ Group and first deputy prosecutor general of the SPP; Xie Guoming, a deputy to the National People's Congress (NPC), member of the NPC Committee on Social Construction, and former deputy editor-in-chief of the People's Daily; Shi Zhanjun, a member of the Leading Party Members' Group and member of the Secretariat of the China Writers Association (CWA) and editor-in-chief of the People's Literature; Lyu Chenglong, a member of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee and the CPPCC National Committee's committee on culture, historical data and studies, and a researcher with the Palace Museum; and a group of experts from the cultural sector.
Appreciating cultural charm of procuratorial organs
As of May 10, 2022, organizers received 72 themed cultural brands recommended by provincial-level procuratorial organs across the country. The entries underscored the inheritance and development of revolutionary traditions, the integration between Party-building and main businesses, the cultivation of excellent case-handling teams, and the summary of advanced working mechanisms as well as typical study cases.
At total of 20 entries made headway into the final of the selection and exhibition event.
Xie said that the competition had helped him grasp a deeper understanding of the creative ideas and innovative measures of procuratorial organs in their work.
Lyu Yanli, deputy director-general of the Publicity and Education Bureau of the Commission for Political and Legal Affairs of the CPC Central Committee, said that the 20 award-winning cultural brands had fully underscored the commitment made by procuratorial authorities to building a sound business environment, carrying forward revolutionary traditions, safeguarding ecological civilization and upholding justice as well as fairness.
Xu Haijian, director of the Legal Culture Department of the Bureau of Law Popularization and Rule of Law under the Ministry of Justice, said that the theme contest is a concrete action for procuratorial organs nationwide to welcome the opening of the 20th CPC National Congress and that the event has provided the public with a new window to the work and strength of procuratorial organs.

Procuratorial organs nationwide have drawn great inspiration and strength from fine traditional Chinese culture, distinctive regional culture and revolutionary traditions in the promotion of their overall work.
